Another entry for the Folcollab project.
The Mula-sem-cabeça (literally: Headless Mule) is another famous creature in the brazilian folklore.
According to the legend, the Headless Mule usually runs through the woods and fields, scaring people and animals. One way to identify this creature is by the sound of whinnying accompanied by a loud groan.
There are several explanations for the origin of this legend, varying from region to region. In some places, they say that the mule came when a beautiful woman dated or married a priest. As punishment for the sin committed, she turns into this monstrous being on Thursday nights (especially on Full Moon).
